Help! I am trying to uninstall mcafee and have gone thru all the steps
provided by mcafee. When I get to add/remove in control panel, I click on
mcafee security center and remove...then I get an error
(c:\progra1\mcafee.com\agent\uninst\screm.ui) missing. All I want is mcafee
out of my computer. I went to mcafee online and they said they would send me
an email of how to...never got the email.. can anyone help me?

I FIGURED IT OUT HAHAHAHAHA
since the genius that i am....
i did a system restore and got the same problem u guys did, i got the message stating the screm,ui file is missing, well if it was there it was put there by the mcafee cd, the file is on the cd!!!! after searching the cd for a half hour i found the damn file thats cause thousands of people problems, and those lazy bastards at mcafee, all they had to do was tell you look on the mcafee cd, heres the destination

E:\vsc\enu\shared\agentcfg.rar copy the entire contents of that file tooo...

the uninstall file that gives u the error in the mcaffee.com folder, in the uninstall folder not the custom uninstall
run the uninstall and boom bye bye mcaffeee, program was crap anyway!!

Your first stop to uninstall McAfee Security Center, as with just about any other program, should be the Windows Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs (or Programs and Features if you are using Windows 7 or Vista). Locate the application on the Add/Remove Programs list and choose the remove option. Follow the on-screen instructions and make sure you place a check mark next to every McAfee related program when prompted. If all goes well, McAfee Security Center should be uninstalled after you reboot your computer.

However, that's not quite the end of the road. A couple more steps may be required to completely remove all traces of the program even after you uninstall McAfee Security Center from the Windows Control Panel. First, you need to remove any remaining program folders from your hard drive. Delete all folders named McAfee and McAfee.com, which will most likely be located in the Program Files folder and Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data folder. Finally, remove all McAfee registry settings by using the Registry Editor. Search for and delete every instance of "McAfee" you find. Be very careful when editing the registry, as incorrect settings can cause major system errors.

McAfee Security Center for better or worse comes pre-installed or bundled on many new computers. While some users love McAfee products, others could live without it. The question naturally arises then, whether you got stuck with it when you bought your new computer or you installed it yourself and now just want to get rid of it, just how do you uninstall McAfee Security Center?
