I have a 2003 server that has a shared folder. I have 1 user account,
"shared" that all of our users user to connect to this server and map to this
share. The xp users have no problems with the login and the mapping. The
users that have W2K have a problem with the mapping. An error comes out
stating that they must supply the password for the share. This only happens
for W2K users. here is the mapping i use in their scripts:

net use i: \\10.1.1.1\shared\admiss /user:shared shared

Hi,

Remove admiss from your mapping syntax and type it as follows:-

net use i: \\10.1.1.1\shared /user:shared shared

Your W2K machines should now map the drive without problem.

Hope this helps

Hmmmm.... I thought using "/User:" in a NET USE command requires the
password to come *before* the "/User:" parameter?

Example: NET USE X: \\SERVER1\SHARE1 mypassword /User:mydomain\myusername

Does this work for you?
