Post subject: dynamic disk problem
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>server>setup (more info?)

Hi,

I have a Windows 2003 Std installation. It is in mirror configuration
using the build-in disk management tool. I created an image with the
Windows PE imaging tool (imagex.exe) for the server and restored it on a
new Dell server. The restoration was successful and everything is
working fine after performing a Windows repair. However, the system was
unable to boot as soon as I changed the disk type from basic to dynamic.
The reason why I would like to do this is to recreate the mirror on the
new hardware platform and dynamic disk is required. The system just sit
there after all the POST, not even seeing the Windows logo. I assume
this has to do with how the disk type was converted. Is there anyone has
experience with this? Any idea of how it can be fixed?

Thanks
