This is odd. New server Proliant (6mo old) and BE v10. I have the
scheduled jobs running every night, no problem. Suddenly the Backup
Exec application keeps ejecting the tapes. I push one in, and its
ejected. It will run the verify, and eject the tape. Even the new ones
I put in there as an experiment get ejected.

I have done nothing to alter BExec. I have never encounter this issue.
Is there anything I can do that will allow me to do a backup? To get
the BExec to stop ejecting the tapes? If I attempt to run manual, run
now, that area is greyed out.

I'm stuck. Let me know if there's a fix.
Thanks

What does the manufacturer of the tape drive say?
Have you tried to stop all BE services and then insert a tape?
Have you tried to run the Server 2003 backup program?

I assume that this is because of the retention policy on the tapes, or
because the tapes you are trying to insert have not been loaded and
prepped into the tape library of eligible tapes for the job you are
tryin to run. In any case, this doesn't seem to be a Windows SBS
issue, but more likely a Symantec Backup Exec issue. I recommend
contact Symantec support or browsing their online help.
