When will SQL Server updates be made available through WSUS?

That's a question you'd have to direct to the SQL Server engineering team.

The first answer would be... where there are some updates other than service
packs applicable to SQL Server. At this time, the only thing I'm aware of
are a couple of patches for WMSDE, which were actually released as Windows
Server 2003 updates.

As for Service Packs.... you tell me.... would you want to install Service
Pack 4 on a production SQL server via WSUS?

Granted, it would be nice to at least have it to handle the download and
distribution of the service pack, but the likelihood that any DBA is going
to allow somebody else to 'automate' the installation of a SQL Server SP is
probably not going to happen this month. Smile

Not getting the updates - I have installed WSUS and testing with 3 machines for test phase. WSUS detects machines which has Windows XP SP2 quiet easily and even after 24 hours ,other machines seems to be undetected. I did wuauclt/ detectnow on clients. But nothing seems to be....

SQL has no updates - Even though I have checked ALL MICROSOFT PRODUCTS under the synchronization page, SQL has no updates. When I go to Updates in WSUS and choose SQL as the product, All updates, and Any time for approvals, I see nothing at all. Office, Exchange, Windows....

Updates not approved - On the home screen, under the 'To Do List', it shows there is 1 non-critical, non-security-related updates that have not been approved or declined. Clicking on this link takes me to the updates page, which is automatically filtered to show these..

Office XP AIP Updates - I've seen a few comments regarding Admin installs of Office 2003 -- but need info on updating our Office XP userbase. We've historically patched the admin image, and pushed out updates to the users through AD. I was really hoping WSUS would resolve..

timed updates - We have some slow T1 links that we want to push updates over. Can WSUS be configured to deploy these updates off hours? Say allow them to roll out from 5pm to 7am? Thanks Ken
