Rename a Computer Group

That's the easy part. So, how do we copy or export / import the update
approvals from a computer group to another or new computer group?

For deleting server side groups the easier way seems to be;

Create the new group
Select all the computers in the old group
Move the selected computer to the new group
After everything is salvaged from the old group, delete the selected "old
group"

Client side targeting of course is different.
