Post subject: Remote Index Sever Query
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>server>networking (more info?)

Hello All,

we plan to upgrade our web server to Windows 2003 and are
trying to work out if we can use Windows 2003 Web Edition.
The only thing I'm unsure about is if a index server
query from a remote server counts as an inbound server
message block (SMB) connection, as we query the
catalogues on our web server from a remote SQL server.

Does anyone know if a index server connection from a
remote server counts as an inbound SMB connection?

Cheers
