Hi,

I am trying to configure RPC/HTTP for my outlook client. (SBS 2003, Exhange
SP1, Outlook 2003)
When i get to the settings in Exchange Server, I have a radio button telling
me to connect to a front server.
1/ To configure RPC/HTTP, does the SBS need to connect to another server
(like ISA Server) to get this functionality to work ?
2/ Do I need to upgrade to Exchange SP2 ?

Thank you for your help

Pascal

It will work for SP1 or SP2 but you have to follow the RPC instructions to a
"T" on the /remote page. To setup exchange just run the wizard and select
Outlook via Internet

Hey Mark, I'm having the same problem - I configured exactly as the remote
page told me and I'm not getting connected. After entering password, I get
'The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable - any
suggestions?

Hello,
The RPC over HTTP protocol allows your full Outlook 2003 MAPI clients to connect to Exchange 2003 Servers using HTTP/HTTPS. This solves the problem remote Outlook 2003 users have when located behind restrictive firewalls. The trick is to figure out how to properly configure the Outlook 2003 client to use this protocol.
Thanks.
