Problems upgrading WSUS 2.0 to WSUS 3.0

I'm having some problems upgrading a particular installation of WSUS 2.0 SP1
to WSUS 3.0. The original upgrade that I tried to do on this failed part
way through. I've tried many things to get this working and nothing has
worked.

The way it stands right now is that I have the listing in Add/Remove
Programs for "Microsoft Windows Server Update Services Service Pack 1"".
When I try to uninstall that version, it give me a message stating:

Box Title: Windows Server Update Services 3.0
Box Message: Command-line Parameters Not Valid.
See log file C:\DOCUME~1\.....\WSUSSETUP.log for
details.

The WSUSSETUP.log file reads as follows:

2007-10-22 16:25:14 Error MWUSSetup DoInstall:
ParseCommandLine failed (Error 0x80041453)
2007-10-22 16:35:22 Error MWUSSetup Wsus 2.0 is installed. The

When I try to run the WSUS 3.0 installation, I get the following:

Windows Server Update Services 3.0 could not be installed. For more
information, see the Setup log "C:\DOCUME~1\....\WSUSSetup.log".

By the looks of it, it's because it can't connect to the database, but I
don't know how to either bypass that or re-establish that database
connection.

I've even tried to reinstall WSUS 2.0 and that fails also.

Any help on this would be appreciated!
