Today I synchronized my WSUS content and found a new version of Office 2003
Service Pack 2. When I tried to download it, it's size turned to be more than
a gigabyte. My WSUS server downloads files in two languages only (Russian and
English). Why the SP2 size is so big? Update id is
dfae3aee-efc4-435c-88c4-4c9408ac9c93.

The excessive file size is a function of one or both of these factors:
(1) You're downloading in two languages and the service pack is
language-dependent, meaning you'll get one copy for English, and another
copy for Russian.
(2) You have "Express Installation Files" enabled and the service pack
supports EIF, in which case you'll be getting /bigger/ copies of each of
those two language-dependent service packs.
(3) The service pack is not language-dependent, but you do have EIF
enabled, in which case the downloaded package will be about 10x the size of
the base service pack.

Thanks for the response, Lawrence.

I just tried to assure it's not a bug. Let's now check out what files and of
what size constitute this update. Now I'm having a few dozen hours to relax
while the download is in progress Wink).
