Hello,

I need some help with NTBackup in Windows 2003.

I'm not trying to set the world on fire with super scripting or
anything, i just want to backup my off site branch servers very simply.
I have someone changing the tapes on a daily basis and had made a very
simple batch file, but it doesn't work?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup "@C:\backup\daily.bks" /n
"daily backup" /d "daily backup" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal
/j "daily" /l:f /p "4mm DDS" /um

The command line is basically taken from the scheduled task created by
the backup wizard and thrown into a batch file and /um stuck at the
end, meaning any tape in the drive should be backed up to regardless of
whats on it, correct?

Some days it will back up, others not.

Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts.

Have a look at the backup report created each day by ntbackup.
It will tell you what's wrong.
