Post subject: Migrating user account from NT to Win2k3 via clonepr.vbs
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>server>migration (more info?)

I have created a Win2k3 domain and established an external trust with our
existing NT4 domain. Now I want to start migrating our NT user accounts
over to Win2k3. My problem is that clonepr.vbs (in the Support Tools) is
failing with the following error:

Error 0x80070005 occured.
Error Description: Unable to read the configuration information of the
computer "PDC1". The error was: "Access is denied."

I believe that at least part of the problem here is that the document
"clonepr.doc" states that
"...Specifically, the caller must be a member of the Domain Administrators
group in the destination domain... Additionally, the caller must be a member
of the Administrators group in the source domain."

I'm running this tool on the Win2k3 DC using the domain's Administrator
account, but I don't know how to also make that account be a part of the NT4
Domain Admin group. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Karl
