Hi Guys

the last 2 days I have been having problems with messages sitting in the
pending message queue with the queue remaining active, the messages are not
delivered and remain that way untill the server is rebooted. but then it
seems the problem occurs not long after this. I am using scan mail for
exchange 6.2. If I try to stop the virtual SMTP server it just hangs. if I
try to restart the SMTP service I get the same issue then it just says
"stopping" and then nothing works till a reboot.

Any ideas of where to start looking or why this is happening would be
greatly appreciated.

Regards
Chris

To get around the hang when restarting the smtp service just use task
manager to stop inetinfo.exe, this will allow the service to restart
properly.

It is a problem with Trend, there is a patch. I am not on the machine where
I have the details noted down, but I have seen this several times in the
past.
