I am looking to find a solution for Inventory Management. Something
that will allow us to full information from our servers; OS installed,
RAM, CPU, Disk setup, IP address, etc. I don't necessarily have to
full the software installed on the system. Just something that will
pull the basic info. It would be helpful to have something that can
manage and organize 1000+ servers.

Anyone using or know of a solution that is easly to implement?

Thanks!

I am looking more for a program/server i can put in a central point on
the network that can pull information from all servers (all flavors -
win, ilnux, unix, aix, solaris, etc) and allow us to input information
like what cabinet it is in, what part of the datacenter, what vlan,
add misc. notes to the object/server, etc.

price is not an issue. we currently are using a program that does this
but it is all manual and i do not want to rely on admins and tech
staff to input information or update the database when a new server is
brought online or taken offline.

If you have access to all the servers you could use vbscript to query WMI.
on each of the servers. The query would then be written to a text file.
