Anyone know how I can get the PDF icon to display rather then the generic "no
icon" windows logo that appears when posting PDF docs to the document library
in sharepoint?

Thanks!
- Andy

Since I'm not using a portal server, just the SBS 'companyweb' services
(2.0), how do you add the .pdf to the content index? and how do you update
the content indexes?

search on that blog for Chad's PDF inserter and that will do the trick.

OK

I was able to get the PDF Icon to work. However I was not able to do the
second portion of the setup because I did not see some of the menu items that
were listed.

The instructions said to go to the Site Settings and Click on Configure
Search and indexing. I did not see that in the list anywhere. Can someone
point this to where these are located.

Also how do I get Sharepoint to open the pdf files in reader instead of
Acrobat? My computer normally opens pdf by default in reader but Sharepoint
opens in acrobat which causes an error because of the plug in in explorer.
Is Sharepoint telling my computer something?

John,
I didn't see the OP
Did you repost a old question?

It's best NOT to REPOST a old question but to start a NEW thread with
details.
Especially a Subject line that fits what you are trying to do.
ME TOO Posts and posts with subject "It's Broken" often get ignored.
(And people who visit this newsgroup will grab recognizable subjects they
are experts in.)

The "It's Broken I need help" as a subject is way too general of a problem.

Even " Exchange is Broken and store won't mount" is better than just "Help"

Please start a new Topic with brief description in the Subject on what's
wrong
and details on what the issue is, and what you are trying to accomplish.

In your case
Something like
No search available option in SharePoint and post what you are using
Example: SBS2003 Standard or Premium
Running WSS 2.0 or Side install of WSS 3.0
etc.

That will help us help you.
Thanks
Russ
