Hello,

I've got two Windows 2003 SP1 servers on different networks. They have
static NATing between them. If I connect from server 1 to server 2 to copy
files, I looks like it's going to work, then errors out after a minute or
two. I get various errors, including: Network name not found, or Path too
deep.

If I connect to these servers via a mapped drive from a Windows XP SP2 PC on
either of the networks, I can then transfer files between the two.

Any ideas on why it would work from a PC, but not from the servers
themselves? Servers have latest drivers, etc.

Thanks, and let me know if you need more info.

Network name not found would generally be due to a failure of
either the DNS or NetBIOS (both really) name resolution.

It is unlikely that you can resolve NetBIOS names across a WAN unless
you share a WINS Server database.

Also possible that FIREWALL settings are getting in the way.

Or more likely that only an admin has privileges....
