Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>server>sbs (more info?)

Hi All,

I wanted to know if anyone knew how to disable both the Manual and and Auto
Archive feature in Outlook.

I have installed the Office 2003 ADM which includes the Outlook 2003 GPO.
This GPO allows you to disable the Auto Archive Interface in Outlook but it
doesn't allow you to disable the "File>Archive" Setting.

We now have a server based archiving solution and want to stop users from
being able to archive their own items.

Regards
Steve

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

In the Outlook ADM template, there's a category called "Disable items in
user interface." You can select Custom and add your own items to disable -
I've never tried it so your mileage may vary.

Do you really care if they archive their own items in addition to your app
doing it?

Dave,

thanks a lot. I kind of figured that the item suggested below would be the
way to do it but I couldn't find any reference to the syntax required to
disable said items.

The only reason I wanted to get rid of the manual Archive option is to
reduce the amount of variables that have the potential to cause the end user
grief.

Regards
Steve

One day I was in the Internet and discovered there many good tools. But I couldn't find a suitable software. But fortunately today I totally by chance observed a such tool - http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/lost_pst_files.html (lost pst files). And I was glad, because of the program solved my problems with crashed emails for seconds and for free as I bore in mind.
