The inability to uninstall via WSUS is not a limitation of WSUS, it is a
limitation of the Package Installer (update.exe). The current Package
Installer does not contain the necessary code to implement an uninstall via
command from WSUS.

Sure, but Microsoft could write a custom uninstaller and distribute it via WSUS.
I'm not saying they should, necessarily (though it would be nice as a gesture
of contrition!) but it is technologically feasible.

I guess the main issue would be concerns about quality control, given the short
timeframe involved.

OR.... they could finish the rewrite of update.exe that was supposed to be
done two years ago when WSUS 2.0 was first released!!! Smile
